Women's Care OB/GYN - Bel Air

Doctors are great and communicate well with patients. They explain what is going on and why. The doctors are quick and you don't have to wait long. I transferred from upper Chesapeake and was much happier with Women's Care/Franklin Square for prenatal and delivery. Only reason for 4 stars is because it is so hard to get someone when you call. Typically you have to be on hold for several minutes just to talk to someone. Very frustrating.

I have been going here for years and every visit the would comment on the size and amount of fibroids I had. When I would mention a hysterectomy, they would just blow me off. There is a family history of cervical cancer and I had already had some pre-cancer issues. After years and then months and months of visits and unnecessary tests and procedures, they finally agreed to do the hysterectomy. All she seemed concerned about was mammograms, which I have no issues with or family history of issues. She tried to talk me into every alternative procedure which would still leave me with the fibroids, pain and other issues. However, now that they had let it go for so long they were afraid to do the surgery because now it is too risky. I had to have the surgery done by a gyno/oncologist. Upon removal it was also discovered that I had 2 IUDs in place... they never removed to older IUD when I got the new one. My insurance was billed for the removal!!! So with delay of care, unnecessary tests/procedures, fraudulent billing and the office manager refusing to return my calls. I think it is time to look for a lawyer.

I am very disappointed in Medstar Health. I called the womens center to speak/ leave a message for Dr. Singhania. The receptionist told me she was off today which is totally fine. I told her that I am a patient having issues/ problems and Dr. Singhania told me to contact her if I was having issues. The receptionist did not even bother to ask what was going on and I asked her if I could leave a message for another doctor possibly. She said no. She said no because one doctor is on vacation and they only have one working in the office. I work in the medical field myself and I am very upset with how this conversation went. I know to ask what is going on first and leave a message for whoever is there, if necessary.

They told me I had gestational diabetes, I've been type 1 for a long time. They were going to put me on over 50 units of Novolog just in the morning. I take about 8 units in the morning to put it in perspective. Thankfully I called my endo through UCMC and she told me not to take that much or else I'd experience a very dangerous low blood sugar. They also only wanted me to check my glucose after meals, not before which is not a good recommendation. There is also a receptionist who is extremely rude. I called to make an appointment and she told me to leave a message which I did, and the nurse tried calling me back a few hours later but I was busy and couldn't answer. I called again, and the receptionist got extremely angry and asked what I was doing to miss the call. Um life possibly? I am so glad I switched OB's.
