I am mainly writing this review to brag on the night manager, Steven. He welcomed us with a professional and friendly manner and was just so patient and kind. I stay in hotels several times weekly for work and can confidently say that I wish every hotel had a Steven there to greet me upon arrival. As far as the hotel goes, it's mostly clean bathroom could have used a little more attention, convenient to the airport, has comfortable beds and good amenities.
Because this was a hotel and NOT A KENNEL! We had previously stayed at this hotel once and were pleased. This visit was possibly even better. We were pleasantly greeted for check-in by Ms. Jazz. She made sure we were assigned rooms to our satisfaction, explained all of the pertinent information to us, and presented us with the warm cookies! Our rooms were very satisfactory and a quiet night's rest resulted. I must add that our bed was very comfortable. Our breakfast the following morning was very good and Ms. Tina did an excellent job of serving us. As Diamond members we were disappointed in having to still pay a small amount but that, along with many of the Hilton properties now becoming pet friendly, is why we are reassessing and rejoining other brands we have previously used these are changes made by the corporate Hilton staff and not this facility. After our satiating breakfast we were ready for our drive home. Ms. Rachael checked us out & resented each of us with a cookie for the road.
I enjoyed my stay here for three nights. The only issue I had was that we were apart of a discounted group and did not receive the discount. I am hoping this will be taken care of. I would like to shout out Ms.Tamara who worked second shift the time I was there for her great service and knowledge. She was very professional, pleasant and a true example of what customer service should be! I also encountered another young but I did don’t catch her name that worked the morning shift on Saturday 11/12 who was also very professional, friendly and provided great service!
Stayed here for 1 night and pay for park and fly rate. The room was clean and easy to park. As diamond, get $15 credit per person for up to 2 person. The breakfast buffet cost $40 with tips. Really wish they go back with lounge or free breakfast for diamond. The cookies are good as always.Rooms: 5/5
I gave 4 stars for 2 reasons only; I did the digital check in but once I came to the desk to ask for plastic keys, I was not greeted while I was waiting and there were 2 agents at the desk. the 2nd reason was the extremely low chair located outside the room or should I say patio although there was no patio. On Sunday while my family went to the game, I stayed behind to watch the game at the bar. Food, drinks and service was top notch. what really made my day was Rachel at the front desk. she was pleasant, professional and knowledgeable. She goes above and beyond for guest. I hope she does training, if not, she needs too!! Oh and I never heard a plane until I was outside that was a plus
Stayed at this hotel the weekend for a family vacation and there was no continental breakfast. Paid $300 for 2 nights and wanted us to pay $16.95 per person to eat! I felt that was a rip off. My room wasn’t cleaned Saturday afternoon when I returned from being out all day. When I called the front desk about it, she said the cleaning staff was gone for the day but will make sure it’s cleaned the next day. Well of course it will be cleaned the next day because that’s the day I checked out. I brought a soda Friday night for $3.45 and Sunday they changed $6.45 for the same soda. When confronted about it the girl at the front desk act like she didn’t remember doing that because they don’t give out receipts, but after having to ruffle my feathers she remembered again!! I will not be coming back to stay at this hotel, was not happy!!
I flew into Charlotte and called the hotel, which informed me there is a shuttle to transport from the airport to the hotel. You can get a shuttle IF your name is on their list. I paid $370ish for the room from 3-5 February. It wasn't that amazing it was worth that much. I feel I paid simply for their name rather than quality. The staff was nice. No complementary breakfast. That sucks for the price I paid.
The hotel is extremely nice. The staff are very nice people. I had my bags in front of a place a cleaner was trying to get to, so I moved them and apologized and he gave me a cup of flavored water and cookie. This people working insude are very nice...... Except for the airport shuttle drivers. I have used the park and fly for a while and unfortunately have to cary heavy stuff with me. The older white guy is extremely nice. Very talkative. But the older black guy got angry with me for trying to help get my heavy stuff loaded and unloaded because I was trying to be considerate of his age and making sure my heavy stuff didn't pull his back. That was uncalled for. And the younger black guy he's always complaining that we're making him miss his breaks. And then he drives like a maniac to and from the airport, while talking on the phone and once watching YouTube videos. I try to be considerate to people because they have it tough always running back and forth, but the treatment I've gotten from the shuttle drivers is uncalled for. And while I like the hotel a lot. I won't be utilizing their services anymore because of how rude the drivers always are with me. Additional comments. the shower head IS way too low, like another review said. I'm average hight 5'10" and had to stoop over to wash my hair. The soap bottle was completely empty, like another review said. And on top of that there's mold growing above the shower due to no ventilation. Fixtures are loose on sink and there was music playing all night somewhere that made it hard to fall asleep at times. But beds are extremely comfortable and when I did fall asleep it was a very sound sleep.
Everyone that knows and loves the DoubleTree Hilton brand, knows that the cookies are a special part of the stay. This DoubleTree Hilton Charlotte Airport staff was rude when requesting cookies. Ok I get it, you are out but no need to be rude and act as you were inconvenienced just to respond to the request. The location and hotel are close to the airport and they offer a shuttle but the evening and morning crew were both rude, my rating is purely based on that. Recommend a friendly greeting and proactively informing customers that unfortunately cookies aren't available at the moment vice being rude and negatively reaction to inquiry. Custome service seems to be a dying trait.
Biggest issue I had staying here is their website advertises they have EV charging on site, this is NOT true. They do not have EV chargers. I had to drive about 15 min away to charge up my vehicle. Other then that no real issues staying here. The walls are thin so if you have a loud neighbor you will hear them. Thankfully mine went to bed about the same time as me so it wasn't an issue.
