The Iris and B. Gerald Cantor Roof Garden

Totally WORTH IT. The MET in itself is worth visiting, and this is a nice bonus at the end of the exploration. The views of the city from here are amazing and I’m happy with the basic drinks and snacks they offer. I can see how it would not be worth it if you’re looking to go to only the rooftop with the tickets, however, I do suggest checking out the museum or at least their new exhibitions. They really do not disappoint.

The roof garden sucks. Skip it. No seating. Over priced batch cocktails. The view is good of midtown but overall they could do much better with the space. Skip it and go somewhere that cares more.

If you are not a new yorker you need a museum pass to get in. This seems obvious in hindsight as it’s inside of the museum although it was not at first. We heard the EDM music played at the rooftop by the obelisk at Central Park and wanted to enjoy a drink with the music. Walked around and realized that we needed to spend $60 for two just to get in, which we did not think was worth it, especially reading previous reviews in regards to the pricey drinks. Would have been nice to know this so we did not waist 20 minutes walking around!

This place is such a hidden gem in NYC! When visiting the Metropolitan Museum of Art look for the elevator that leads to the roof. The roof has an ever-changing display of sculptures Go in the afternoon for a marvelous view of Central Park and Midtown - so iconic! Great spot to grab some Instagram-worthy pictures I wish it was open more often and that the elevator was easier to find!

Great views of the city and if you time it right you will see a spectacular sunset. Drinks are pricey so be prepared to pay.

Can get a bit windy and hot, the line to the bar is long, but the view is spectacular.

Great views of the building lining up along the Central Park. Would like to check out the same during the fall colors.

Excellent place to enjoy at the Met Roof Garden Bar watching the sunset over New York with a chilled wine or beer.
