The only gym in Salt Lake City that is a true executive level gym. The design of the space is relaxing and open in a modern feel style. Amazing men and women's locker rooms with sauna/steam room and private showers. The pool is also best in the state.

I love working out at City Creek. It's always clean and the equipment is well maintained. I have done personal training with Luke and my experience has been amazing! I've gotten results that I didn't even think were possible. I've tried dieting and exercising on my own, but having a trainer to help hold me accountable and guide me has made all the difference!

I really can't say enough about The Gym. Other than I found the name weirdly ambiguous when they first came onto the scene, I haven't been able to find many, if any complaints. Aside from accidentally locking myself out of my locker after showering (and I will complain that there isn't a direct phone line from the locker rooms to the front desk, for the random stranded naked dude...) I don't have any complaints. The facility is top-notch. The equipment is superb. I'm a big fan of the classes (particularly Cycle) and they have all that I need and more. But, checking the box on the facility and equipment is really just the price of admission. Where a place with the audacity to own the moniker of "THE GYM" really shines, is with the people. Their customer service is amazing. Beyond reproach really. So friendly from the moment you walk out of the elevator, through the classes, and eventually to the point that you lock yourself out of your locker, they're just a great bunch of people. If you're like me, being greeted with that smile and warm service is sometimes the difference maker on all of those not-so-motivated days. Quick shout out to my personal trainer. (And yes, this is the first time in my life that I’ve had a personal trainer. Not just because I’m in dire need of the training and assistance, but also because I’ve felt confident enough in the people here, that I was confident in the investment.) The whole training team is legit. Seriously. And, my guy, Gabe Juarez, is the top of the heap. Seriously knows his stuff and maintains the balance between professional skillset and knowledge enough to kick me in the ass when I need it, but also chill enough that he treats me not just as a client, but someone he’s genuinely interested in seeing make improvements. In short, he invests in me at least as much as I invest in myself. The whole “The Gym” team does.

Good place to work out, all ranges of fitness levels, not judgy. Exactly what you'd want in a gym

EDIT: They had their employees follow me on social media, which was bizarre. I’ve been a member of this gym for almost 5 years and have paid for my membership every single month during that time. I find that being called into question bizarre and confrontational — if anyone reading this review wants to reach out and see my membership, feel free *lol* The people at this establishment certainly didn’t reach out to confirm my membership and instead responded with snarky smugness. It just goes to show what kind of place they’re running here. The best part is that I have pictures of the gym all over my social media, so when they were following me it was easy to confirm I was a member and very obvious, but Cathy’s response was still that they couldn’t find my membership. That’s just lazy. I’ve been going here for almost five years and the quality has steadily declined. There’s only one janky fan by the treadmills and stair steppers and bikes and that’s irritating. The chargers on their cardio machines are outdated — normally I wouldn’t complain about this but I pay so much for my membership and I’m not getting more value from it. They used to have hairdryers in the women’s locker room but now there’s just these old crappy looking plastic holders drilled into the walls and no hairdryers. The sinks are always clogged and the hand towel dispensers never work. They never keep toilet paper stocked in the bathroom stalls. They changed the locks in the locker room and half of the lockers don’t even work anymore. The showers are filthy. The steam room is always full of yellow foam. The jacuzzi has piles of dirt that you can see in the corners of the jets aren’t on. The most hilarious part is I easily pay 3x what an average gym membership would require and they CHARGE FOR EXTRA GYM TOWELS. Pure insanity. I’m paying you three times as much as the Planet Fitnrss across the street and you can’t even foot the dry cleaning bill and charge an extra dollar per towel. That’s insane for a supposed luxury gym. I’m so close to switching memberships but I don’t want to lose the always-empty barre area. Put some poles in one of your unused classrooms and offer pole/aerial classes. You never seem to have classes.
