This Sbarro's is an okay spot. It's part of the CPCC campus and is a small cafeteria location. It feels a bit grimy and nasty inside, and their pizza is very limited and nothing like what I’ve had at other Sbarro’s. They do carry similar menu items such as pasta, salads and a few more items. The staff weren't all that friendly, so I wouldn't come looking for pleasantries. There were only a couple of staff working the registers for two restaurants so perhaps that explains their lack of enthusiasm. With that, you had to wait a few minutes in line. There is no immediate street parking --the closest is in a garage attached to the building in the rear. The food court is directly attached to Halton Theater and has restrooms inside —which attracted a few street peeps. The prices were relatively inexpensive and has a college vibe, paper plates and all. I was there visiting Halton Theater, and likely wouldn't come back if everything else in Charlotte was closed --I'd drive to Gastonia first...
This location is easily accessible from the City Lynx Gold Line Streetcar. At least for the most part, unlike Taco Del Costoso next door, Sbarro does give you a good bit for your money, though there are some items on the menu that seem like they could offer you more, such as the stromboli. During the day, there usually is a good flow of customers, so things are usually fresh, unlike the evenings where you may question how long that pizza has been sitting under the heat lamp. Here are the cons of this Sbarro, and why I have called it Sadness Pizza. First and foremost, the refill policy. Unlike the Bojangles' that used to be located here, when you pay $8-$11 for your meal , your wallet isn't finished if you want a drink refill. They offer absolutely NO free drink refills, at all, whatsoever. Each and every refill is $1, for what cost them probably not even a quarter for the amount of syrup to make that cup of soda. It's one thing to charge for refills, but to go as far as to plaster REFILLS $1 REFILLS $1 REFILLS $1 REFILLS $1 all over the soda fountain is a bit excessive see photo. Granted, not even a week after they opened, they were having issues with people cheating the system, bringing in outside cups and stealing soda. This issue could have been easily alleviated had they located the fountain behind the counter where it was when Bojangles' was here. Second is the prices. Expect to spend upwards of $8-$11 on a meal. Just a slice will cost you around $4-$6. That's close to the price of a whole pie from the Dominos located within walking distance. Add another $1 if you want a refill. This is where the emphasis of sadness comes in... the overall cost of dining here. This is community college, not a mall. The majority of the customer base here is college students. The cost of visiting this place for a meal on a regular basis will add up very quickly. For one on a tight budget, it's not right. The Bojangles' that was here was very affordable. On average, one would spend around $4 for breakfast, and around $5-$6 for lunch/dinner that's for a meal, not just the entree. The first drink refill was free. Although I do like Sbarro, I feel like a Little Caesars or a Pizza Hut Express, with a Taco Bell next door, would have been a better option for on-campus dining.
The food was good... but the guy making it had gloves on touched the order screen then made a sandwich. It kinda grossed me out cause the man running the register didn't have gloves on. So contamination. Not good. The employees were very nice though.
prices are decent. food is waaay too greasy and has so much fat grams in it, i could split it up for 3 days and it'll still be too much. don't eat here, the food is tasteless anyway.
I’ve been waiting half an hour for them to open. Hey say they open at 8:30 but it’s now 9 and they’re not open. Food is kinda overpriced but if you gonto cpcc it’s nice having food close to classes
Pizza is not my favorite. Also prices are way to high. Feels like I'm at a concert paying $6 for a slice of pizza.
Great customer service and greet with a smile, They remember faces and moved as quick as possible
