Papi Queso

I was really looking forward to trying this place, as it's very difficult to find halal Mexican food. It's in the Batley plaza, close to Sibu and Chickanos. I really wanted to like it, and I was very fortunate to get 20% off as England were playing in the World Cup that day. We ordered the signature tacos, mac n cheese, fries, tenders, and 2 chicken burgers. The first burger was lovely, with a creme sauce. Lovely and fresh. The tenders were fresh and nice. The other chicken burger was probably the spiciest thing I've ever had. Me and my wife couldn't eat it, as it had this fresh red sauce which was like a habanero paste. Way too spicy and not enjoyable. When I ordered, I asked about the menu and certain items, but although the gentleman helped, he didn't tell me that particular burger was really spicy. The Birria tacos were fresh, served with a lime beef gravy. Nice, but too wet, and lacked the gelatinous unctuous beef taste, and a pinch of salt. I think they would be better if they were crunchy tacos, enabling a better experience. The mac n cheese was very watery and bland. The fries were really good though. Had a lovely seasoning.

These guys know flavour. Lots of thought has gone into all the dishes. Birria Beef Tacos melt in your mouth and the wraps have been dipped in the broth before being fried. Beef really good quality. Burgers are very juicy with lots of flavour. New Nashville burger is one of the best I've had. Hard to find a proper one on any menu elsewhere but this one is what you'd find in America. Proper authentic spices with gherkins and chipotle. Can't wait to the new things on the menu Parking: Park in Tesco car park and up through plaza

Finally had the chance to try this place out and honestly I'm upset I didn't come here sooner, the food is simply amazing. I got the Birria burrito and a side of Mac n queso and both of which were very very delicious. The beef was juicy and had a lovely flavour to it. My only qualms was that it didn't come with consomé and it was a little small. We did also get a portion of Birria tacos to share which were to die for. The beef the cheese were just and this did come with consome which just elevated the dish to another level. I cannot recommend this place enough and I will definitely be coming back again

Went for the first time today. Amazing customer service with top quality food. Everything was freshly made and the Burria tacos were absolutely mouthwatering. Would definitely recommend for anyone who hasn’t tried.

AVOID AT ALL COST, food is not edible house chips are overly salty waited over an hour and they still messed up the order, the burgers had a tiny strip of chicken. Not worth the wait or the money. After waiting over an hour got told some items not available. Had to go back to complain as they stopped answering the phone and got a refund. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND Update: Non existent customer service responded to reply from business. Not heard a thing back. Clearly owners aren’t bothered if customers have a bad experience with staff or the food is not edible what a waste of money. Save yourselves the disappointment and go to one of the many other decent edible eateries in Batley.

Papi Queso has good food and the Quesbirra tacos where bang on especially the meat in the tacos, the Tortilla wraps where nice and crispy and the chips where also we’ll cooked and crispy, especially when they season the chips. i highly recommend.

Ordered on uber eats, Tacos were delicious and the broth complimented it well. The connoisseur burger was juicy and succulent, will come back again!

Fries tasted like they had been cooked yesterday and warmed up. Ordered mild birria tacos and got hot. That combined with how cold and soggy the food was meant it was inedible. Refund given by Uber eats.

Fantastic experience. Birria tacos were flavoursome and the portion was generous. Mac ‘n’ cheese with the Mexican twist was a delicious side. Good range of premium drinks. Lad serving Salmaan was knowledgable and provided excellent service. Well done Papi Queso.

Food is OK nothing special. Burrito was probably the best item. Don't order the fries as they are just tossed in a drawer and left out so quite cold when they get to you. Service is terrible, they go hide in the kitchen when you want to order or if you need anything
