Ontario International Airport

Easy access and no lines at TSA! Nice renovated and clean facility. My only complaint is that the terminals are separated limiting your access to retail shops/restaurants in the other terminal. However, I expect that this will be remedied in the upcoming master plan (to incorporate High Speed Rail station on other side of parking lot). A great airport!

Ontario is an interesting airport. It is either virtually deserted - incredibly easy to get into and out of or an complete madhouse. this is a function of a few large jet popular international routes combined with smaller regional flights. Still my go to choice for east of la destinations. Check your Uber wait times as soon as you hit the tarmac.

This airport is not equipped to handle any surge in passenger traffic that it is hoping to attract. First there is no easy way to get between the two terminals. You’ll have to exit security to do that. Also there aren’t enough shuttle buses to handle movement between the two so the wait can be long and then the bus has to loop around the entire airport to get to the other terminal. It takes at least 15 min by foot and I’m a fast walker. Imagine if you had a lot of luggage, disabled or of a senior age. Traffic - ok for now. Though can be an issue at peak hour or when the airport attracts enough passenger traffic that the roads and throughways can no longer handle the volume. Security-the line can be long even at 4:30am. There isn’t enough room in front of the x ray machines so they had to hold a lot of people in the ticketing area before they can let them up to the security screening area in order to ease congestion. Concessions - there are very few restaurants or coffee shops in terminal 2. Condition of the facilities - the airport looks fairly new. Overall this is a small regional airport trying to grow to be an international airport or an alternative to LAX. Though it lacks the infrastructure to grow or support growth.

best little airport around!! Easy in, Easy out! Small town feel. Rented a 2012 Mustang from there as well, so not a forgotten place, it is well stocked with rentals. Drive down to Orange County was a little longer than LAX, but much much more pleasurable!

Great airport. I flew to NOLA in mid April from here. Check point was a breeze as there was no line. Easy drop off right in front of where I had to check in. Plan to utilize this airport more in my future travels.
