North County Towing

Why is zero stars not an option? Predatory business practices and pricing. Towed my wife's vehicle while we were moving in, making trips to and from the vehicle which was not illegally parked. My wife actually ran out and told the driver what the circumstances were but he still towed it in. $280 for what would have been a $50 tow if we actually needed and called for one. I have to fault the apartment complex on this as well for contracting with an unethical company that just cruises around looking for vehicles to tow rather than responding to complaints of illegally parked or abandoned vehicles.

Called and asked what location my car would be at and got some of the most disrespectful service ever. I would recommend anyone going literally anywhere else rather then this place. I would actually feel joy knowing that they went out of business and I hope someday soon they will. Scum of the earth

My husband and I had a car towed from our apartment home while we were out of town. The property (Maryland Management) has a contract with them in order to, according to them, "keep the riffraff out for our tenants." Unfortunately, this has more of a negative affect on the apartment residents rather than a positive one. We were towed (again, while out of town) for having a 3-day expired license tag. The registration had been renewed and was inside the car; had we been pulled over by an officer we would have been fine for having the renewed registration and simply asked to put our new sticker on the plate. However, our car was unjustly towed from our home, and when we returned 2 days later they quoted us $325 to pick up our car. When we went to find their office (whose address, by the way, is incorrect on both google and their website), they dealt with us in the parking lot (at 11PM) and did not allow us inside the office. They then told us that our price was $350, which was different than what we were originally quoted. They tried to call the management so we could get the original over-priced quote, but they couldn't get in touch with them. So, we had to pay the $350 to get the car that evening, OR wait until the next morning to file a complaint (and then be charged for it sitting another night). While I do understand that this towing company has a contract with Maryland Management, they act like vultures in our parking lots, trying to rob rightful tenants of hundreds of dollars. I would not suggest using them under any circumstance.

3/8/16 The police had my car towed for "abandonment" and instead of letting me know immediately (they obviously have my name and address, etc in the computer, as well as DMV info available to them) they waited until after charges had increased at NCT before they even let me know. Not every person uses their car every single day if they have no reason to run errands, go to a doctor appt. etc. Come to find out, my tires had been stolen and the police had it towed. So why wouldn't they tell me my car tires were stolen rather than tow it. Do they not care about a police report?? It is okay for people to just walk up to a parked car and take your tires these days?? Now I am a victim of the thieves who robbed me, the police who just didn't give a damn and the towing company who is raping me for my money. NCT said it is the police responsibility to let me know the car was towed and not theirs. Now I ask you - if the car is on their lot - wouldn't you think they would make an effort to alert the owner - maybe ask the police who the car is titled to or ask the police to call and/or send a letter immediately to the owner?? Oh and by the way - let the poor lady know someone stole her tires while you are at it? NO? Do you know why? Because the longer they have it, the more they charge you. So as you can see this is a very catch 22 type operation and the only losers are John and Jane Q Public. All they care about is manipulating the situation in any way the can so that they can steal your money - they make so many rigid rules that there is no leeway at all and the woman I spoke to was very curt extremely rude. When I went to get the car and asked what it cost, the guy at the counter gave me a price $100.00 above what I had just been told by the lady on the phone. When I questioned it he sighed and said "oh all right" and took the original amount quoted. I am sure he was trying to pocket money. He was either a bad employee who is trying to embezzle money or, this is NCT's customary practice?? So now I am a victim of the thieves who robbed me, the police who just didn't give a damn and the towing company who is raping me for my money. Shame, shame, shame. 3/9/16 Unfortunately I had to call back again today and it was - same rude service, different day. I am beyond out of my mind with this entire event that has now ended up costing me a total of $400.00. It is a shame that customer service and police protecting the innocent public are a thing of the past I guess.

These guys are the quintessential example of reality tv, redneck, small-minded, idiot mentality losers who are in the business to rape people and laugh while they do it. They go into contracts with properties and AGGRESSIVELY patrol the lots just waiting to tow the first thing they see. When they tow, they don't care for the state of the vehicle, they only care on the clip and the pull so they can get their top dollar. I had a rental vehicle that was towed - and I have pictures showing how they pulled up at an angle and dragged the front end sideways for a bit before it straightened out to the rear wheels. This effectively left drag marks in the blacktop and also left three noticeable gouges in the aluminum rim on the driver's left side. Of course, when you go to the shop and attempt to share any information with "Buddy", the owner, he denies everything and tries to act all angelic, stating how it is "impossible" that they damaged a car during towing, and even attempting to threaten and intimidate you by stating that any small-claims approach would be countered due to a "frivolous lawsuit". He obviously never went to law school, since it isn't up to what he thinks - it is up to a judge and is neither frivolous nor trivial. If you are a business looking for a contract with a tow/recovery company, steer clear away from these profit mongers. They are only looking for trouble. If you are a driver and see signs that say "North County" on them, be very aware that these shady losers will try anything to hook you and make money off of your demise.
