Excellent! Dr. W. was patient and understanding with all of our questions and concerns. Answered everything thoroughly, and told us all of our options. Sugery was wonderfully successful and recovery was just as great for our 11 year old dog. Her techs were just as caring and professional! I highly recommend her for any specialized surgery you pet needs.

I've had one dog with two surgeries and and another with one. They have received excellent care and their recovery was everything I hoped for and more. Great staff and excellent dog bedside manner

Dr. Walesby and her staff, Rita and Aleksandr, are some of the kindest people I have ever met. I rescued a medium-to-large breed dog at the shelter and did not know that she would need surgery. When my vet recommended Dr. Walesby, I immediately called and Rita happily answered. I was very nervous about the entire process, but Rita was very assuring that Dr. Walesby is one of the best out there (correction: she IS the best). My dog, Sadie, had suffered from abuse and needed FHO surgery as soon as possible. Rita was able to squeeze in the surgery within five days after my call. I was so happy and relieved.
On surgery day, I was greeted by Aleksandr and Dr. Walesby. Aleksandr was so patient and kind to my fur-child. Sadie does not take well to strangers due to her abuse, but she had no problem taking to Aleksandr. His love and passion for helping animals is very clear. Also, his explanations of the medications Sadie would need to take after surgery were easy to understand.
I thought this experience could not go any better until I met Dr. Walesby. She immediately started talking with us about the surgery and was very kind to break down the procedure in lay terms. She answered all of our questions and concerns. She even kept us posted with the surgery and personally called us way after normal business hours. The post-surgery check-ups were very thorough and helped me give my Sadie a successful recovery. Dr. Walesby not only helped with the physical-injury part of Sadie, but sent me in the direction I needed to help with my dog's anxiety.
The love this woman has for animals is why I felt comfortable leaving my Sadie bug. I felt and knew that she truly wanted to help give my dog another chance at life. I have already recommended Dr. Walesby to numerous amounts of people. I am a huge animal lover and would trust any animal with this woman. She is a miracle worker.
If anyone has any doubts, please just meet her and you will understand this post.
Thank you again Dr. Walesby and staff !! I wish I could give more than five stars...

My experience with Maryland Veterinary Surgical Services was outstanding. When we went in for consultation, Dr. Walesby was clear, kind, and attentive, as well as the rest of the staff. They all care for the pets that walk in their door as if they were their own. Not only did the office call to tell me they were about to start my dogs surgery, and when the surgery was finished (with a brief "everything went well, and she is resting comfortably"), but Dr. Walesby also called me personally, later that evening to talk about how it went in more detail, and answer any additional questions I had. When I went back to pick up my dog, a young man (I believe his name was Josh?) patiently explained the medications and instructions during healing, also being sure to answer any questions I had. The next day after I brought my dog home, Dr Walesby called me again, to check on her. All in all, I hope my dog never needs surgery again, but if she does, I will definitely go back to Maryland Veterinary Surgical Services.

I could not have asked for a more professional, friendly and supportive staff of vets and surgeons to take care of my beloved dog. Dr. Walesby is a wonderful surgeon and clearly an animal lover. Even if you are considering services elsewhere, I highly recommend a visit to MD Vet and Surgical
