Low Country Coins

I am a fairly experienced collector, yet I found that some of the Low Country Coins staff were impressively more knowledgeable than I am. Fairness & honesty reign supreme here too. They are also incredibly supportive to young/beginning collectors--this is obvious when entering the store(s) as you will find abundant supplies & reference material and many affordable examples of coins/currency to purchase. They also have a good selection of more expensive items for sale. What is less obvious is that the staff/owners are also active in the local coin club and encourage collecting there too. I highly recommend!

What an experience. I walked in looking to pick up a few old coins to add to my novice collection. The only thing I couldn’t find was Solomon’s gold. I asked about tips for getting started and also that I was collecting with my son, who is 6 years old. They had books for kids, which was perfect, and the gentleman gave me some great tips, websites and local gatherings for both me and my son. I found old coins for the starting collector and at incredible prices. When the gentleman offered to assist and teach me what to look for when grading coins, I abandoned quite a few online and brick-and-mortar coin sellers. When I walk out of this store I know that I’m not only getting what I paid for but I’m paying the proper price for what I got.

What can I say but these guys are BADDDDD!!!!!! my day started out with me calling them and speaking to a representative who walked me through the process and we left off at ok well I will come down to sell you my old gold jewelery.... I then get down there and was met by two gents one bill (super nice guy) and one rather snakey guy who I hope they did not allow him to have real bullets in that side arm he had.....but moving on. They test my gold and then say due to my jewelery type I may get more at an actual dealer and referee me to a local guy....when I left bill stated he'd be in it for the scrap at 80 to 81 percent of current 14k gold value. I go to recommended dealer to be given a scrap price of about 60 percent current rate so I call these guys back in hopes of making a mutually beneficial deal. At this point, REMEBER THIS IS THE 3RD CONVERSATION!!! He says oh were not interested.......WHATTTTTT!!!! Are you in the scrap gold business or not, I responded. Well we bough a couple of estate sales and can't aquire any more gold. WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME THAT ON THE PHONE OR WHEN I WAS THERE THE FIRST TIME.....VERY UNCOOL DUDES VERY UNCOOL

They ripped me off! They gave me $3 for my commemorative silver coin, even though $10 is the absolute minimum value. They cheated a kid, they'll cheat anyone. Very Dissappointed
