Le Pain Quotidien

Story

We’re a Belgian bakery and restaurant serving simple, wholesome and seasonal food. Le Pain Quotidien means “the daily bread” in French, and like our name suggests, we’re bakers at heart. Although our handmade, organic bread is how we got our start, we serve a variety of healthy options like organic coffee, pastries, eggs, tartines, soups, salads and desserts.

At Le Pain Quotidien, we believe that food should be simple, nourishing and delicious. That’s why we source ingredients that are local or organic whenever possible. We also believe in the importance of eating a healthy, plant-based diet, so you’ll find many vegetarian or vegan options on our menu.

OK, Le Pain is an over-priced casual restaurant chain. Service at this location is very hit or miss - more miss. The servers are friendly and positive so that suggests to me that it's poor management... I like the strong coffee and that it's organic. The food is generally light and priced about 40% higher than it seems worth. There's good space and high ceilings so it feels airy.
I stopped by here last week to get some things to go and was impressed with the quality of the food and the friendliness of the people who helped me. So when I was meeting a friend for lunch today, I suggested we go there. We had a very good lunch at an outdoor table. We each got a cup of very tasty gazpacho. My friend got a special summer salad that she said was delicious and my salad, the lentil one, was also delicious. Both were fresh and beautifully presented. We finished with lattes, which also were perfectly done. Our server, Michael, was wonderful.
Spacious, good atmosphere, but just the slowest barely-existent table service. Just order at the front counter and serve yourself. Sit down for table service and you'll be lucky to have a someone who clearly doesn't want to be doing their job help you after . . . maybe 20 minutes, and then it's all attitude. And its a shame, because this location does have a great space and menu. Whoever is the area manager for this particular LPQ needs to be reassigned to something else--anything else..
Incredibly rude workers. I ordered food and was treated like a second class citizen when I tried to sit in the back, being told that I wasn't allowed because I ordered takeout. I politely explained that I hadn't been asked whether I wanted takeout or dine-in and had meant to dine-in. There is a pleasant way to handle situations like this but the workers did not go that route and instead treated me so poorly. I have never been treated like such trash and was told that I absolutely could not sit in the back even though I was there to work. I also received a small seasonal tea that was $5.75 and believe that I was overcharged. Very disappointed in the rude manner in which I was treated.
Second time here in the past week. First experience was pleasant and food was good . This morning I came here and they got my order wrong TWICE then tried to tell me I was mistaken when they were clearly in the wrong. Also did not get my friends orders right either. My meal also came with a salad or soupçon which wasn’t included either time... lets see if the third time will be correct :/.
We just had a terrible experience today in this place. I was literally harassed for tip. We had a bill of $50 and we left over $10 of tip. The server one guy yelled at us we were 2 women with two babies and verbally attacked us, saying “ you guys didn’t leave enough of tip, do you work for free because I don’t” You don’t work that’s why you don’t understand” And then insulting us. We felt in danger and left intimidated especially we’re with the babies. I will teach out to the headquarters to file a harassment claim and I will never go to this place.
The service keeps on getting worse. Waiters and waitresses seem to be hopeless, and sometimes, carless. Maybe it is because they are overloaded, but you can wait for 30 mn at your table hopelessy trying to make eye contact with a waiter, and leave without having been able to order.
Bad!!! Our friend suggested we three go here for late breakfast and we were EXTREMELY disappointed. Small portions, bad service, and VERY overpriced for poor quality. Their coffee was very bad, skillet eggs way too small and mediocre taste, very small waffle, TINY breakfast sandwich. We will not be coming back.
Have been to 3 in the last 3 weeks. ,the staff at one time were nice. Not so now. Walk in, showed to a table and ignored. Get up, attempt to talk to them and they couldn't care less. Today in order to get service I had to go to the counter since the wait staff was entirely useless. Not so crowded as they used to be.
Very cute decor and plenty room, but each time I come here, they seem so disorganized and the service is extremely slow. Pricey too for what they have.
