This place deserves nothing less than 5 stars. Hands down one of the top bakeries in America. They serve amazingly unique pastry selection made fresh by hand and with Hawaiin flair. They also serve 100% Hawaii coffee from the island area Kona. This place is like Starbucks biggest competitor in my mind. If they expanded they wouldn't be stopped. I ordered an iced latte with oat milk, a chocolate banana croissant, and the black sesame kouign amann. All were so good and fresh. The croissant had real chocolate and banana in it. I took it on a flight with me and had it in my bike for like 20minutes and the whole plane was smelling like that sweet, delicious croissant. Note: they also give you their business card in the package which I find amusing but cl classy as well.
Prepare for a bit of a wait at this spot, but it's worth it. The coffee is reliably excellent, and the pastries are the ideal companions. Personally, I'm a fan of their honey lattes paired with a kouign amann or one of their savory pastries – a great one-two punch.Food: 5/5
I'm a regular customer, and I love their pastries. It's very hard to find a similar coffee place with the same variety or high quality. So I stick with the same spot, and I don't regret it. My favorite pastries are pineapple croissant Idk if they stopped producing it, but it was replaced for the almond croissant. And I love it. and black sesame kouign amann. Their expresso kona beans is AMAZING: flavor + smell. Some months ago, they also started selling some fresh sandwiches for the savory lovers. Turkey + pesto or prosciutto sandwiches are my favorite. But just be aware, they start getting sandwiches' orders only around 11 am. Lines are huge in the early morning, but they get smaller around 10 am. Go with patience. It's worth it anyway.
Visiting Kona Coffee Purveyors was top of my list because I knew they partner with b patisserie which is my favorite place in San Francisco. They did not disappoint. This little shop in the International Market Hall is like a little slice of SF mixed with Hawaii. The vibes are immaculate and the food/coffee is to die for. For starters, the Kona red bourbon drip coffee they serve here was so smooth and tasty that I wish I bought more. The star of the show is definitely all the pastries and food though to complement the coffee. During lunch hours you can order flatbreads on sourdough very SF so I got the hand and cheese which was out of this world. Pastry wise, the Kouign-amann is always delicious and the seasonal flavor that week was cranberry apple. The macadamia nut croissant was also tasty but the best one in my opinion was the lilikoi bostock which had all the delicious buttery, fruity flavors. So glad this shop opened near Waikiki, it’s the best!
I heard this place had the best coffee and pastries on the island. It definitely had amazing pastries but I didn't see all the hype over the coffee... The lineup is insanely long everyday, and if I ever return to Hawai'i, I definitely wouldn't wait that long for their coffee ever again.Food: 4/5
Came here shortly before closing 3:40pm, with no lines. Had a deliciously made espresso and cappuccino, using their single origin Kona beans, which are well worth the surcharge. The taste is on the darker side, but intentionally so and thus enjoyable and I say that as someone not into darker roasts. At 14$, most expensive espresso and cappuccino we ever had, but hey, it's Hawaii after all.
Got lucky with buying the last bag of their Kopiko beans which the barista said they will only be restocked a year later! Tried the iced Kopiko pour over for $12 - it’s soooooo worth it! Soooo perfectly extracted!! I also tried both $12 Aeropress and $12 Pourover with their Konawaena beans. It’s mind-blowing to taste the difference when the beans were extracted through different methods! I love the aeropress method more since I can taste the oiliness from the beans. One thing that I was not happy about was when I pointed at and tried to order a Tart Flan. The staff was being very rude and asked “what?” I replied again “Tart Flan” and then she said “Tart FLAUN.” She def knew I wanted the Tart Flan since I already pointed closely at it. It’s so unnecessary for her to make me say Tart Flan again just so she could correct me and made it a big deal.
Creamy rich coffee and loved it. They have pastries and sandwiches as well. I would recommend their coffee as a must try when you are in Honolulu if you are looking for Hawaiian Kona coffee!Food: 5/5
I'm not a big fan of coffee, so I don't know much about beverages here. However, the Viennoiserie section at James Beard b. patisserie is excellent. The Kouign Amann, various croissants, all incredibly delicious— I visited every day during my stay in Waikiki. The pastries are top-notch!
We got here around 8 am and the line was out the door and all the way to the Hilton Vacations timeshare desk. Definitely be prepared for a wait. We did walk by closer to lunch time, and it was much shorter, so if you aren’t interested in the pastries it might be worth coming much later in the morning or for lunch. We loved every pastry that we got, and our coffees were also delightful. A bit on the pricier side, but the quality definitely met the pricing. The staff were really friendly and efficient. Overall, I would absolutely come here again if I woke up early enough to beat the line.
