Kilby Court

Been to this venue several times and it's very cozy. Good sound and very nice atmosphere. Either try to be very front or hang way back so you can see the act on stage because it is a small space.

It's a small place, that people who already know refer to it as a garage. My hubby and I went to see Gabrielle Aplin's concert an English singer. In the beginning we were a little skeptical about it, but as soon as the concert began, we changed our minds. It was an awesome experience! I recommend to anyone, specially if you like family friendly places. Go see for yourself! You will not be disappointed! We loved it! The only downside about it was being so short as I am, standing from the back I couldn't see her as she's also small. So if you are 5'2 like me get there early and stand in the front row. 😉

So the concert was billed to start at 7, and that's when we showed up. It started at 8. The first act stopped in the middle of a song because they forgot the words. The second act was supposed to be a band, but only the frontman showed up because the rest of the group "had other gigs." We took off after the second act because they had very long breaks in between acts and it wasn't even clear to me if the headliner had bothered to show up. There were (I counted) 15 people there. It seemed like the Kilby Court crew and a few friends and the acts. We felt like outsiders in a very intimate party and it was certainly the most awkward music event we've ever gone to. The sad part is that it was my wife's birthday and we were very excited because she loves going to local music events. The whole thing was exceptionally disorganized, the acts were frankly terrible, and the sound was really not good. I can't believe I paid 8 dollars per ticket to participate in the amateur hour of amateur music. I recommend everyone go south to Velour in Provo. Same price, but there you might actually have a good time.

By far the most unique music and theater venue in Salt Lake City. Parking is a little wonky and finding it can be tricky (just follow the alley all the way back). All of the shows I've seen there have been a lot of fun and had a lot of audience engagement, which is something you won't find elsewhere.

Awesome for close and tiny concerts. It's a very small garage and a tiny stage. But it's such a fun venue. It's so personable and has an out door area. I love it
