Story

Dr. Sarmiento graduated with a degree in Dental Medicine from the Universidad Cuauhtemoc Mexico in 2006, where he then received training in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. He received his American dental license from the University of Rochester in 2011. Dr. Sarmiento also received his specialty certificate in Periodontics and his Masters in Oral Biology from the University of Pennsylvania where he graduated with honors. He currently practices in his prestigious Upper East Manhattan periodontal practice where he offers minimally invasive, cutting edge procedures to his patients.

Dr. Sarmiento was named the J. George Coslet scholar in 2013 and received the Directors Award in 2014 by the University of Pennsylvania, where he now serves as an Associate Clinical Professor.

It’s NEVER fun having wisdom teeth pulled but Dr. Sarmiento and his support staff are excellent and extremely kind . They are friendly, professional and comforting. They take every opportunity to make their work as painless as possible which goes a long way when dealing with nervous patients undergoing necessary procedures.
Dr. Sarmiento is beyond fabulous! Such a talented and incredible surgeon. He made my front tooth implant so easy with his caring manner and unsurpassed expertise. He even called me personally, after my surgery, to make sure I was feeling well which I was due to his attentiveness. I would highly recommend him to ANYONE!
Dr. Sarmiento is one of the most excellent doctors I have come across. He is extremely knowledgeable and will take the time to give a proper treatment plan ,walking you through what the process would entail. My procedure was one of the best dental visits I’ve had. He’s attentive to detail, makes you feel comfortable and ensures patients receive the best treatment! Dr. Sarmiento truly is the best of the best and so passionate about his work. His staff is so pleasant and I would recommend his practice without hesitation!
Dr. Sarmiento is an excellent doctor. I had went in for a wisdom tooth removal and he made it completely painless for me. He gave me the whole breakdown before he started the procedure and informed me of all the complications and symptoms I may or may not have post procedure which made me feel at ease. Also he provided me with a full written step-by-step list of what to take for any pain and treatments to make sure I wouldn’t have any infection issues. He’s a very professional Doctor that I highly recommend to anyone. His staff was very welcoming and straight forward. My experience there was a 10/10 and I will be definitely going back for any future dental issues.
Dr.Sarmiento is incredible,he is so nice and charming, very professional and gentle. His priority is making sure that the patient is comfortable and get the best. He has a HI-TECH equipment.He extracted my impacted wisdom teeth in 10min, he did mandibular anesthesia without any pain at all. I was so shocked at how smoothly things went! He is really very gentle, polite, he puts a lot of care on patient, he has amazing assistants, they are so nice and friendly, and makes me laugh so much that I can't even noticed how my procedure finished.Dr. Sarmiento definitely knows what he is doing. Amazing caring doctor. Its hard to find an honest doctor in New York City these days. Dr. Sarmiento was very honest and gave me the confidence i needed for my procedure. Every periodontist in town had no idea why my implants kept failing and Dr. Sarmiento was able to cure them. Before my surgery i did some research and found he was an expert in treating infected dental implants and actually published the most current classification for this matter! Thanks doc!
As an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon, I can honestly say that for anything Implant or Periodontic related, this is the place to be! I've been having some complications with my teeth. After visiting several doctors and getting different opinions the solution was clear. I needed implants from a oral specialist. Dr. Sarmiento was highly recommended by two of the many dentists I had seen. I scheduled my appointment and came in for consultation. Dr.Sarmiento concluded the diagnoses and explained the procedure that would take place in the weeks to follow. He made me feel at ease with his experience and his thorough research on Implantology upkeep. When it was time for the procedure it was effortless, painless and he worked with precision. Highly recommended!!!! Best decision I ever made in a confusing field full of options and opinions !!!
I recently had to undergo an implant surgery performed by Dr. Sarmiento. Knowing this process was as intricate and lengthy as it comes, I was extremely uneasy. However, I was pleasantly surprised with my outcome. From the date of my initial consultation up until my last visit, Dr. Sarmiento prepared me so well for each and every detail that was to arise going through the process. At one point I asked him if he actually had the surgery since he would warn me at the exact moment that I would feel pressure etc. Overall, after scaling & plating, extracting a tooth, and placing in an implant Dr. Sarmiento & all the staff at Pollack Periodontics made a nearly intolerable situation for me as pleasant as it could be. With that said, I would recommend Dr. Sarmiento time & time again.
