Budget Car Rental

Difficult to find drop off location (it's on H street, parking garage entrance). Calling Budget was frustrating, got a national call center not the specific location so they weren't really sure how to advise us either. The staff checking us back in were nice & fast.

Everything went great until we tried to return our vehicle at Union Station. Google said it was open until 10pm. After trying for 15 minutes to find the entrance due to heavy construction and no signage, we arrived at 9:45pm to find the Budget office closed. 9pm was the posted closing time. We were charged for an extra day. After 2 phone calls to Customer Service, the issue is still not resolved. The first time I called, I was told they would look at the video recording to verify our arrival time. This didn't happen. On the second call, the Budget CSR admitted they called the Manager at that location, who didn't look at the tapes, and took their word that we were late. They also told me the best they could do was take 50% off the late charge... for their incorrect information and failure to examine the evidence.

Its the worst return service i have never seen in the Union station washington DC location. As we took our car from baltimore airport around 11.40 am on 23rd may and as per the return time out listed in the bill they had mentioned till 12.00 pm on 24th may. We reached close to destination by around 11.40 with in the given time 12.00pm. But it took us more than 20 min just to locate the budget rental car drop off location , due to no signage of entrance as it was so difficult to find the location and even the google maps just shows the wrong location. So finally we reached at office 12.00pm on time and by the time the officer checks gives the bill it was 12.10 pm. so as per the time mentioned in the bill return time has to be within 12.00pm but it was 12.10 pm. So when i questioned the budget rental car officer , and explained the difficulty in finding the return location and there was so much traffic at that location, they have not helped anyway and instead they charged us extra hourly charge of $66 with tax. so actually we have to be get paid of $106.15 but ended up in paying around $180, more of $80. I really had this rental car return policy as one of the worst service. so finally i wont prefer to give any good rating about this budget rental car return.

Picked up at Dulles - got signed up for a rewards program without asking and was sneakily asked to upgrade a vehicle. " I would recommend and Edge." We had paid for an intermediate SUV so thought this was included until the upcharge was specifically asked about. Return: Car return parking is nearly impossible to find and is NOT located at the address listed. Car return is located on H Street.

Easy. Pleasant. Good equipment. Very friendly. Was a long-time Enterprise customer until 1 week ago here at Union Station in D.C. Not again. I like these folks.
