Atkins Park Tavern

The food is really good. However, the service has the opportunity to be improved on. I went two separate occasions - last week Monday and tonight. Again, they were out of certain beers we ordered, as well as the Thai curry noodles and vegetables for their salmon bowl. They also did not have their Crab, Spinach, and Artichoke dip. It took about 15 minutes for us to even get water at the table. When we ordered beers, it took an additional 10-15 minutes just for them to let me know what I had ordered was out. The same situation happened last week Monday, but with several more ingredients. Last week Monday's server for dinner on the patio did not seem fully with it when taking our orders, and multiple times we saw him sitting down and resting right after saying our drinks were on the way. Tonight's waitress provided slightly better service, but it did take us a while to get our drinks to the table and for someone to come over. Like I said, great food and drinks (when delivered to our table), but the service has quite some room for improvement.

I was introduced to this restaurant by a colleague and was so happy that I was exposed to this wonderful Tavern and restaurant. When I tell you that the food was absolutely delicious, trust me take my word for it. In the heart of downtown Smyrna, a multicultural down home southern vibe that you can enjoy it with friends, family, coworkers, or an intimate date.

Worst Mother’s Day dinner ever!!! When my family ( my mother, sister, wife, 2 kids under 2yo) got there, we waited 5 minutes for 2 employees to stop talking about what bad customer service was, to acknowledge us. Then we were seated and served by a waiter who was overly sarcastic. It took him 20 minutes to get us our incorrect drink order and then never came back to serve us. After an hour of waiting, we asked a random employee if she could help us. She told us it was “the worst f**king day of her life and she’s happy that she’s not a mother.” And she also said “and I’m not even going to apologize for what I said” right before breaking some plastic cups and spilling water on my mother and sister. And yes, she sat people at that same table without cleaning up the broken pieces of plastic and spilled liquid on the ground. After waiting 1.5 hours for our food, I went to the front and asked for a manager. After waiting 20 minutes for the manager, I walked back to the table to find her already there. She apologized and said that she had just got there and didn’t know the current state of the restaurant. She immediately comped our meal. 2 hours after taking our initial drink and food order, our initial showed up to walk our food to the car for a tip. Needless to say we refused his service and he didn’t receive a tip. I highly recommend that no one EVER go to this location!!! Unless you want to receive the worst possible customer service in your entire life. It was so bad, we had to laugh. There were some other crazy things that happened that I left out because it is just too much to type.

A friend and I stopped at this establishment on a Sunday evening to grab something quick to eat. We sat the bar. We didn’t know that smoking was allowed at the bar. This was probably the only negative for me. They have separate rooms for non smoking, but there is no bar access in those rooms. So, if you’re the type that likes to eat at the bar and doesn’t like cigarette smoke, this is probably not the place for you. However, they made up for it with the food and cocktail. The bartender made me a custom peach tea cocktail. Delicious! I also had the Chicken Piccata. This dish was phenomenal. I highly recommend it. As for the customer service, the bartender was so personable and shared conversation with us which helped build a rapport. I will definitely be back.

Bar atmosphere with live music and good food! There is always a mixed crowd of people and ages which makes it a great place for anyone! The locals love their bartenders there! 😁
